Minutes later, after the children went in with Doctor Irons, the high-end family car pulled up to park by remote. Seconds later, Tyler got out, hiding behind the car door to peer up at the abandoned and heavily damaged former institution warily...

"I'm here."

"It's Doctor Irons.."

Even before Tyler finishes the sentence, the Revenant is accelerating away from his helicopter, sprinting across the scraggly grass toward the decrepit building.

"...I think they're putting him back together again!"

In through the empty doorway, and he's already pulling out and priming his shock-rod.

"They're all there?"

"Most of them. They're...Wait. They're making like...TWO of him. A metal one and...something else." Just then other sounds come in over the headset.

CRANK!
CLANK!
WHIRRRRRRRRR...

The Revenant doesn't speed up, because he was already going at a full sprint. But if he weren't, he would.

"I want you to fall back! Fall back!"

"Oh boy... I'm going!"

He'll note Tyler is not whispering anymore.

"Moon Shadow, talk to me!"

Maintain contact, keep apprised of new developments as they occur, and just plain reassure each other that you're both still alive and conscious.

"It's coming after me! It's alive!" Mere seconds later a grappling claw darts and sinks into the wall directly to the left of the grown-up vigilante hero.

The Revenant doesn't waste time on surprise at the incoming Moon Shadow; he simply shoots out an arm to catch him before he hits the (only marginally more solid) wall, and directs his attention instead at what prompted the boy's expeditious retreat.

"Doctor Irons, I presume?"

"Whoof!" Clotheslining on the gut is by far preferable and more quickly recovered from, than a bad wall faceplant.

"Although I presume he's had a rough day..." continues the Revenant, raising his shock-rod in his free hand.

'Rough' doesn't begin to describe the robot clattering down the hall in pursuit of the errant Moon Shadow. It looks like it was constructed by grade schoolers. It's cracked and rusty all over, and almost the scariest part is that it can remain functional. Its metal pseudo-face looks... deranged.

As it comes its fingers shoot out, extending into long, thin tentacles whose jointed tips threaten to spear the duo.

The Revenant jumps and dodges several tentacles, swatting aside another with his shock-rod. His left arm moves to drop Moon Shadow neatly between the tentacles—cables might be a more accurate description, really—without letting him touch any.

For that, Moon Shadow is extremely grateful, because he isn't wearing his special armor from Dr. Oliver and his lightsaber is in his other toolbelt.

It's no lightsaber, for all that it looks somewhat like a miniaturized one, but the shock-rod darts from tentacle to tentacle at lightning (ha ha) speed. Its electricity doesn't seem to be a deterrent, but it keeps them out of the way long enough for the Revenant to bring one of his other toys into play.

While his right hand is busy with the tentacles, his left hand reaches around back of his utility belt and produces two plastic canisters. He tosses the sticky-bombs past an opening in the tentacles, and they explode at the robot's feet, spraying it with a fast-congealing goo. It, and its tentacles, are held fast.

Hmph. That was, dare we say it, almost too easy.

"I'd heard you were a genius, Irons. Where's the witty banter, I wonder..."

Well. Maybe not all the tentacles. One still has enough free reach to sneak its 'fingertip' around to the back of the Revenant's neck.

FRAZZZZ!

No wonder electricity didn't bother it; those cables are built to carry a charge. And a fair bit of weight, as it snakes around the Revenant's neck and hoists him off the ground as it tightens...

...and without Revenant protecting him from the robot's assaults, and the robot entirely fixated on killing the larger threat...

Well. Moon Shadow just hopes this is going to work when the grapple claw is fired right into the rusty midsection of the robot. The gauntlet however is getting electromagnetically stuck to that hefty steel pipe and the winch is going on.

It's strong enough, it's gotta do something, right?

SKRRRRANNNNNK!

The robot, as previously observed, was hastily cobbled together by a group of elementary school children; a group of children, moreover, who were considerably more focused on their other project. The middle torso is torn clean away from the shoulder section, disengaging a great deal of vital circuitry. Both sections collapse, inert.

The Revenant pulls the suddenly-slack finger-cable off of himself and rubs at his sore neck. Bending to pick up his fallen shock-rod, he says to Moon Shadow, "You've been practicing with the electromagnet, I see."

"My grappler was stuck to a drinking fountain for an hour the first time I used it."

The Revenant's mask shifts in what may be a grin as he sets off down the corridor the robot came from.

"Let's go see what... ah." A small figure, slightly taller than Moon Shadow, is blocking the passage. "That's Steve Newdeck, isn't it?"

"Do you hear something?" Tyler is staring at Steve worriedly, how far could Harold have amplified those powers...and what could Dr. Irons have done to him and the other students too?

Pretty far, evidently. The sound isn't coming to them through the air of the passage, but through the solid structure of the building. The walls begin to vibrate visibly, the pipes hum, and little bits of plaster start falling from the ceiling.

It's still just barely recognizable, though (at least if you're a classic rock fan).
