If they're dreamers, they want bouncy castles and pony rides and giant tigers.

If they're the children of superheroes, oddly enough they still want those things, but you can't find a good pony that resists nuclear radiation as Tyler's learned. So, in the interest of keeping things simple and within his budget, a party has come together in the backyard of the house of one Augustus Fenwick.

Inside, there's plenty of soda in the fridge, and bowls of chips, dips, crackers, pretzels and ofcourse candy and little paper favor bags. The coffee table between the couch and TV already has one large present wrapped in brown paper (decorated with green watercolor cats) and an absolutely HUGE box wrapped in a myriad of wrapping papers next to it.

Outside in the fenced backyard is a good sized stick, branch and log structure, waiting to be set on fire as soon as the sun really starts to set, and that isn't that far off as the afternoon sunlight reveals. There's a kid in a black trenchcoat that looks about eight sizes too big poking about said structure as Tyler holds open the door for the guests. And decorating the walls, counter top are little decorated brown-paper flags saying 'Happy Birthday Nepeta!" in green letters.

"Nah, you're just fine Will, there's still more people who're coming." Tyler grins.

Cecil's coat just happens to be.... special, in that classic PS238 meaning of the word.

"You want some snacks or a soda? We're going to be cooking the dinner stuff over the campfire later."

"Thanks, yeah, I brought a present. It ain't too much just a dime novel and some rock candy. Do you think she'll like it?"

It's what he'd get for his brother so it seemed like it might work.

"I think she'll like just about everything." Tyler smiles, leading Will over to the kitchen and the bowls of cold salad. "We got noddle salad, broccoli salad, two kinds of potato salad..oh and there's lots of cold soda in the fridge."

"It looks good. Did you organize all this? You did a good job,"

William goes for a soda first, the cans aren't too odd and then starts piling a plate. He'll never turn down free food.

"Yup, and saved up and paid for the food and decorations too."

He's going to get himself another can of generic cola though, he's earned it.

"It's a fine job. The food's nice, almost feel like I'm at the celebrations for the Fourth back home."

...and Tyler just grins at the praise for that much of it.

"..haven't even gotten to the cake yet.." He murmurs. "Oh that big bowl of just steamed broccoli is for Nepeta, she's been hitting that all afternoon."

"Yeah, cake's hard to turn down. Oh, she likes it?"

Broccoli's just another vegetable to William but long as the person the party's for likes it.

"Loves it would be more accurate. She gets growly over it."

"Then it's good there's enough of it. How are you doin'?"

...err. No one's really asked much about that...really.

"Doing mostly okay...kinda tired a little between all the summer courses I'm taking."

"How many are you doin'?"

William likes school but he can't see searching it out when he doesn't have to.

"Three of em, learning how to write and speak a new language counts as two, and I'm getting some Isshin Kenpo lessons too."

He's gotten so that he doesn't really mind the learning anymore. It's learning stuff that'll be helpful to him later on!

"What's Isshin Kenpo and what language are you learning?"

He doesn't get the words to sound like they should but he's trying.

"Isshin Kenpo is a form of defensive and offensive fighting with your bare hands. I'm learning Japanese right now for my language and it's really challenging since they've got easily hundreds of thousands of symbols for writing."

"They both sound useful. Do you have good teachers?"

Tyler always seem to be doing so much, he makes William wish he was doing more.

...Man if Will only knew the half of it.

"For Isshin Kenpo yeah, but I've gotta study Japanese on my own from some books, but I've got Ako helping me out on learning how to use the words properly."

"Oh, it's good she's helpin' you out. Don't think I'd know where to start with another language,"

He knows some Spanish because Bisbee's near the Border but not a lot.
