Hungry people need to eat...

It took a little bit of bribing amid the waitrats and kitchen staff to arrange for four hours of uninterrupted time. Half an hour of that was spent checking over the entire kitchen for listening devices, scrying spells or astral anchors. Once that was done, everything was about getting all the bits and bobs for teaching someone cooking basics out and at the ready. Spices were arranged, the espresso machine was warmed and primed. Coffer of various types was set out in jars, ranging from the dreaded SANKA to Civet Cat to the special blend that the people on Security drank (It was always nice to have a coffee that doubled as a liquid to exorcise ghosts, spells and what not).

For what's he's worth, Beauford is standing calmly next to one of the polished steel prep tables of the kitchen, wearing a battered plain denim apron that may have a few char marks at the shoulder. At least that's how things appear to Quentin when the young man shows up at for lessons.

"I will and if it works, I'll let you know too. Knowing us, there probably won't be leftovers."

"Yes, and maybe sometime I can cook for you back home," That would be real test.

He'd probably end up cooking if he visited Quentin's house...Gotta be honest, Beauford would end up at the very least helping to prepare a feast.

"Your world or mine?"

"Your kitchen's probably nicer but San Francisco's pretty."

"Mnnnnaaah. There's a reason I wanted to host the cooking lessons here." Not just keeping a teenage Fair Folk from entering his world without warning the numerous entities who would be very interested in such an event... The Ministry of Extraordinary Defense might be ...alright with it, but a dozen other alphabet soup acronyms would get up in a certain masked vigilante's business. "Can't argue with the vies San Fran boasts though, gotta admit that..."

"Our kitchen has space but not a lot of stuff. I'll take you,"

He likes showing off his city and that will mean a better sense of what the kitchen in the new house can do too.

"Make sure to plan that trip in advance... Your knight might take a mighty exception to a strange cook in the house." There's a pause. "That or I'd have to cook up desserts so +5 angelic that I'd be welcome to cook anytime."

"I will and if you cook then you would be very welcome."

"Really?" He has to a pause for a minute. "I suppose a guest who cooks is a welcome guest anywhere, especially if they're not the weirdest one in the house."

"Yes, really as long as the cats approve of you, you'll be fine,"

This is a bit of an exaggeration but not that much. And Beauford would have useful ideas about how to make the kitchen do more of what its supposed to.

It's more training the people to use the kitchen and it's tools properly, A kitchen doesn't generally work without people or at bare minimum one person doing things.

There's more scrubbing before the pots and pans are rinsed and set into the racks for the industrial standard dishwasher. Milliways kitchen does not condone forcing unpaying patrons into hard washed labor.

"I think that about wraps up the lesson for now...and complete with a few minutes to spare."

Quentin grins, this all seemed to have actually worked, "And the food's ready too, I think. This will make a big difference for us."

"Good, because living off of pizza and take out can't be good for anyone's health, even if you are of Oberon's Get."

He opens his mouth at Oberon's get, stops and then nods,

"Other people do feed us and we live in San Francisco, even pizza can be healthy. Oh and if you want, I can explain some of the Fae races."

He's made some...rough concepts of what the people of Quentin's world (all species included) are like, so there is only the faintly raised eyebrow at the word races.

An entire world summed up with one word, a plural noun.

"As much as you've got my curiosity up... it'll have to wait until our next lesson, Quentin." Beauford's just going to make a pointed glance towards the doors to the kitchen which are opening to admit the regular staff back in to start work.

Unless he wants to talk about this in front of the entire kitchen and wait staff... "Besides, I've had tofurky pizza."

Quentin makes a face as he lifts up the dishes and follows Beauford, "Some things that are done with tofu are wrong. And yes, another time."
