Seattle, the invitation for Dinah

He is a man of his word, and one more than capable of figuring out how to get people in and out of his world with little issue. That's why he and Dinah emerge from the third stall of the Unisex bathroom of the Seattle Public Library. It's clean, quiet, and most importantly of all, devoid of security cameras.

"Be this portal ever so humble."

"Can't help you there," Dinah says ruefully. "Except that it wouldb've been a good idea."

"...hfff." There's a glance towards the noise of a truck coming up the street, and the bus behind it. "Maybe afterwards we can hit my workplace, sure to get some comped drinks there."

"Works for me," Dinah confirms, running on the spot a couple of times to get circulation back into her toes.

"Looking forward to working up a sweat before that."

"Be sure to play nice with the other kids in the park." Beauford jokes, grinning and swiping his card again for their fares. This bus at least has more seats open on it.

"I always play nice!" Dinah objects, in mock offense.

"I don't think you appreciate how much of a handicap it is for me not to be in heels."

"And the boys at the gym will all feel for the loss of the sight of your working out in high heels, your sacrifice will be honored and remembered."

It's not just the heels of course, but they get that.

"As long as we're all in agreement," Dinah says. "Hey, does this bar of yours serve food?"

"Q57, and yeh they serve some food, some fancy hipster-ish pub snacks." Beauford answers, smiling. "I'd reccommend in getting the sweet potato fries myself. Comes with lime and mint-yogurt for dipping."

Does Dinah even want to know what a hipster is?
Can she ask without making herself look like an 80s kid again?

She doesn't care, because she's practically melting in her seat from the thought. "Sweet potato frieds. Got it."

"And they do a little shrimp tempura basket with a dark fish dipping sauce."

Dinah sinks down, her knees creeping up the back of the seat in front of her.

"Oh god..."

[basic_powers]

"And then there's the curried vegetable dip with pita dipping chips..."

[raptorcanaria]

"This," Dinah says, rolling her head back to look at the ceiling. "Is just taking advantage of me an my most vulnerable."

...her most hungry.

This just gets an earthy chuckle from Beauford, he's definitely enjoying this.

"Maybe I should save the rest of the menu for you to drool and decide over after the workout."

"Might be the best idea," Dinah says. "It'll give me something to look forward to at the end of it all."

"And I didn't even have to go into describing the speciality drinks.." There's a lazy glance out the window now. The buildings outside are looking less and less pleasant, they're definitely getting near the warehouse district.

Dinah's eyes have been constantly outside, checking out the vehicles. She's smiling a little more now; there's something very familiar about these neighbourhoods.

"Food is more important."

It's the buildings, the people standing outside to get a chance to smoke, and the fact that they're reaching into the further parts of town.

"This is our stop."

Again, she follows him out into the cold, though this time with a lot of looking around.

"Nice place. Where're we headed?"

"Concrete Jungle, it's up the street two blocks and over left one." Beauford nods, pulling his scarf around his face, before getting into a jog. "Come on, warmer if we keep moving."

Dinah grins and breaks into a smiliar pace, keeping pace with him even though she doesn't stop looking around herself.

Honestly she's a terrible tourist. She likes looking.

She's making a wonderful tourist, taking in all the sights, smells and scenery..

Okay, why is she looking at the grungy warehouses and smiling anyways.

He comes to a stop by a pair of iron-barred doors and stops, stomping off the slush from his boots. Then, with a bow, the doors open up to a burly man behind a desk.

Because it's a new city with different grungy warehouses and there are people here living their lives.

And she nods to the burly man. This is for Beauford to take the lead in.

"Beauford Tannen, and Dinah Lance," Beauford starts, taking out a packet of papers and a card from his pocket. "We're here for the Parkour run on the second floor?"

The burly man behind the desk takes a look over Beauford's packet of information and nods, swiping the card.

Time for Dinah to front up those fake papers.

"Either of you a meta?"

"Me," Dinah says helpfully.

(And wow, it feels weird saying that outloud.) "Lungs and throat."
