....FINALLY SOME VACATION

It's Friday morning, and right now...

The bags are packed, the extra money is in a special pocket, there's no one invading anytime soon, he has no real training, so it's a little unusual for Tyler to be in this house.

It's not the usual routine and it's great, and because in a few minutes the 'family' car pulls up into the garage and Ray will be coming to visit.

"...6:56..." The hard part was not bouncing off the walls while staring down the clock. Ray had to come exactly at 7 am.

"Ray! it's 7!!" Tyler called through the open doorway, which had formerly been the broom closet. "Come on!"

"Zodon's the kid in the flying egg chair, right?" Ray says. "He's going to get eaten by a Hound of Tindalos one day if he's not careful. Or smacked by the Doctor."

"Actually, Tom had me take care of Zodon last year." Tyler says, with his head somewhere between his knees as the car drives off towards SuperSonic. "He just started his time travel experiments today and.. ...Ray? I think I would be very happy if I never had to deal with time travel ever again. Talking to yourself is WEIRD."

"Ah," says Ray. "That would explain the bit with the uncontrollable incoherence right before the trip to the Dimension of What Happened To The Sky, then."

"You ended up at the Castle Beyond Time and Space?"

"Afraid so," Ray says. "I wish I'd been carrying better scientific instrumentation. I'd've loved to bring Romana some data on the vicinity to see how it compares to Gallifreyan understanding of the Time Vortex."

"Tell you what, I'll ask Tom about that and if he'd be willing to let us have recordings of his castle."

"Sounds good to me," Ray says. "I'd ask if the mirror hall is always that odd of an experience but I'd be willing to bet the answer is yes."

"I TOLD you that if you ended up there not to touch any mirrors! I still get nightmares about that!"

"It was an accident!" Ray protests. "All three of it! I mean, I was trying to remember what I shouldn't be doing, and, well..."

Tyler's just going to put his face in both hands and take some deep breaths.

"When I find Zodon I'm going to drop a full bomb of squid ink into his chair."

"Let me know if there's room for some extra," Ray says. "I know a guy in Chinatown."

"Anyways...I think Zodon's going to stop once he realizes he can't control when or where he lands. Which was what I had to spend the morning making sure Angie made."

"Monkey wrench in the works of the proto-Master's First TARDIS?" Ray guesses.

"Yeh, Tom would've messed with Zodon's machine himself, but Zodon would've detected his energy signature, and been on the right track." Pause. "And Zodon's going to give up on time travel cause of that, or at least that was what Tom told me."

"I sincerely hope Tom is correct. People with Zodon's kind of attitude shouldn't be able to run around in the time stream at will," Ray says. "You get Daleks that way, eventually."

[basic_powers]

"Daleks or Cybermen. Pbbht."

[gone_byebye]

"Either way, they're no fun at all," Ray says. "Keep me posted on how it goes. In the meantime I think I see the burger place up ahead, or am I wrong?"
