If they're dreamers, they want bouncy castles and pony rides and giant tigers.

If they're the children of superheroes, oddly enough they still want those things, but you can't find a good pony that resists nuclear radiation as Tyler's learned. So, in the interest of keeping things simple and within his budget, a party has come together in the backyard of the house of one Augustus Fenwick.

Inside, there's plenty of soda in the fridge, and bowls of chips, dips, crackers, pretzels and ofcourse candy and little paper favor bags. The coffee table between the couch and TV already has one large present wrapped in brown paper (decorated with green watercolor cats) and an absolutely HUGE box wrapped in a myriad of wrapping papers next to it.

Outside in the fenced backyard is a good sized stick, branch and log structure, waiting to be set on fire as soon as the sun really starts to set, and that isn't that far off as the afternoon sunlight reveals. There's a kid in a black trenchcoat that looks about eight sizes too big poking about said structure as Tyler holds open the door for the guests. And decorating the walls, counter top are little decorated brown-paper flags saying 'Happy Birthday Nepeta!" in green letters.

Kanaya is enjoying herself so far, though while she watches the proceedings interestedly, she's not entirely sure on how to insert herself into them.

She is, however, keeping a close eye on the birthday girl in question. Karkat would skin her alive, if she let anything happen to their friend. There are also people to be rescued from inbound pouncegreets. Not everyone is able to stand an incoming catgirl.

Fortunately, Kanaya is completely able to stand an incoming catgirl.

That's about to be a very good thing, in three ... two ... one ...

To give Kanaya some credit, the pouncegreet doesn't knock her over, but she does stagger some under the sudden weight against her back and shoulders.

"Oof. Hello, Nepeta!"

"Hi Kanaya!"

Nepeta looks completely delighted. At EVERYTHING.

Kanaya smiles, letting the small girl hang from her for now.

"Are You Having Fun?"

"I am having pawsitively the best time EVER."

"I'm Glad To Hear It," she says, making her way to the table containing the presents with the cargo on her back, and in her hands. "Otherwise You'd Have Grumpy-horns Telling You 'I FUCKING TOLD YOU SO!'"

She's giggling. "He might say that anyway."

"Knowing Him, You're Probably Right."

Eventually Kanaya'll find herself being joined by Tyler along the vantage point she's picked out. He's looking a little tired, but generally, that's par for the course.

They both have people to watch over, though in Tyler's case it's more... trying to keep Cecil from trying to stalk some guests.

"...hey."

Tyler receives a smile as he sidles up alongside Kanaya.

"Hello, Tyler. Thank You For Having Us Over."

"It was my pleasure, I really liked getting everything set up."

Gave him a distraction from the crazy in his family.

"I Admit, I Wasn't Sure What To Expect, When Nepeta Invited Me."

"You think I got things right? I mean, I know nothing here is really all that fancy or anything."

"I Think Nepeta Is Just Happy To Be Experiencing Something New And Exciting With Her Friends."

"Then I think she's going to be really happy in Milliways."

...there was a touch of happy pride in that voice.

"I Think So, Too. At Least She Has Karkat And I There To Look Out For Her."

Beat.

"Tyler?"

She is being eyed very suspiciously by an apparent-human; Karkat is, however, easily identifiable by his dress sense. Same grey cargo pants, same chunky black shoes, and apparently the same long-sleeves black t-shirt, under the black corduroy jacket.

He gives her a cautious nod.

Kanaya, would know that fashion sense and scowl anywhere.

"Hello, Karkat."

"HEY. WHAT IS THIS, YOUR HUMAN DISGUISE?"

Obvious questions are always in style.

"Yes," she responds. "Bar Turned Me Into A Human For Halloween And I Had My Picture Taken For Nepeta's Device."

"THAT IS TYPICALLY SERENDIPITIOUS," Karkat says. "I HAD TO SCRAPE THIS ONE TOGETHER FOR MYSELF, FROM MAGAZINES AND MOVIES."

"WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON WITH YOUR EAR?"

"I Believe It Appears To Be Pierced, Though In Reality It Is Where The Holo-Device Is."

"OH. HUH. IT LOOKS... WEIRD."

That is probably complimentary; it is at least not too heavy-handed. "HAVE YOU SEEN NEPETA?"

"I Did," she says. "I Was Pounce-Greeted Shortly After She Spotted Me."
