If they're dreamers, they want bouncy castles and pony rides and giant tigers.

If they're the children of superheroes, oddly enough they still want those things, but you can't find a good pony that resists nuclear radiation as Tyler's learned. So, in the interest of keeping things simple and within his budget, a party has come together in the backyard of the house of one Augustus Fenwick.

Inside, there's plenty of soda in the fridge, and bowls of chips, dips, crackers, pretzels and ofcourse candy and little paper favor bags. The coffee table between the couch and TV already has one large present wrapped in brown paper (decorated with green watercolor cats) and an absolutely HUGE box wrapped in a myriad of wrapping papers next to it.

Outside in the fenced backyard is a good sized stick, branch and log structure, waiting to be set on fire as soon as the sun really starts to set, and that isn't that far off as the afternoon sunlight reveals. There's a kid in a black trenchcoat that looks about eight sizes too big poking about said structure as Tyler holds open the door for the guests. And decorating the walls, counter top are little decorated brown-paper flags saying 'Happy Birthday Nepeta!" in green letters.

"Thanks, it's kept me busy." Any other nine-year old might take it as high honking praise that they were able to set up a party like this.

Tyler actually found it easy compared to some of the other things he's run into.

Tyler always seem to be doing so much, he makes William wish he was doing more.

"For Isshin Kenpo yeah, but I've gotta study Japanese on my own from some books, but I've got Ako helping me out on learning how to use the words properly."

"Oh, it's good she's helpin' you out. Don't think I'd know where to start with another language,"

He knows some Spanish because Bisbee's near the Border but not a lot.

The arts of circular breathing babbling are obviously at work here.

"Frisbee is usually fun."

There's a book sized small package with some odd bumps in butcher paper with some tinsel tied around it from William.

"It isn't any trouble with having this many people just show up?"

Ooh, hotdogs. Though, to be fair Ako is in favor of any food that tends to come with a fire to cook them on.

"Can you show me how? We don't have frisb33 where I come furom."

"Nope, this isn't my parent's house, just a friend who's letting us borrow it for the party.."

There's a few hamburgers too with little metal wire boxes on extendable rods for cooking over the fire, and paper plates and salads.

"...and I really hope everyone behaves themselves for it so I don't get into trouble for having a mess."

Book-sized and bumpy, hmmm?

Nepeta wastes no time in pulling apart the butcher paper. (The tinsel gets coiled up and stowed safely away somewhere.)

On top of two dime novels that have tigers and lions on the cover, there is a bunch of brightly colored rock candy tied with a gold ribbon.

Ako can manage that easily.

"Probably it is best to use it to play catch here," she says, "I don't think there's room to set up a good Ultimate field and we'd need more people too."

"So far, so good," says Ako.

Hotdogs first, burgers maybe later. Salad while the sausage cooks.

"....Ako, please don't use english phrases that taunt Murphy's law."

"What should I have said instead?"

"Ultimate?"

Nepeta picks up the frisbee and offers it to Ako.

Oooooh.

She picks up the brightly colored ... things first. They look a little like grist, but they're the wrong shape for that.

They're pretty, though!

"It's a frisbee game, but with standardized gear and leagues and things like that," says Ako taking the disc, "And you need a team because it involves passing."

"They're hard sugar, you can eat them,"

She looks like she's never seen them before and he wants to make sure she likes them.

"..." It's hard thinking up a phrase that won't taunt Murphy. "Probably something about having enough cleaning supplies and free time."

"I'll try to do better from now on," she says.

"S'okay, I don't think anyone's warned you about Murphy's Law or the phrases that tend to bring it."

"It doesn't come up much, no."

Julie nervous as she steps in and not just because these are new people she's never really met. She also decided to attend mask and costume-less which is just really weird...and freeing in a way. Without the mask and cape, no one will know she's a super hero and no one will ask what her powers are. She free to just be Julie and that feels neat...scary but neat.

Well, there's one person she knows here, right? That's something at least.
