If they're dreamers, they want bouncy castles and pony rides and giant tigers.

If they're the children of superheroes, oddly enough they still want those things, but you can't find a good pony that resists nuclear radiation as Tyler's learned. So, in the interest of keeping things simple and within his budget, a party has come together in the backyard of the house of one Augustus Fenwick.

Inside, there's plenty of soda in the fridge, and bowls of chips, dips, crackers, pretzels and ofcourse candy and little paper favor bags. The coffee table between the couch and TV already has one large present wrapped in brown paper (decorated with green watercolor cats) and an absolutely HUGE box wrapped in a myriad of wrapping papers next to it.

Outside in the fenced backyard is a good sized stick, branch and log structure, waiting to be set on fire as soon as the sun really starts to set, and that isn't that far off as the afternoon sunlight reveals. There's a kid in a black trenchcoat that looks about eight sizes too big poking about said structure as Tyler holds open the door for the guests. And decorating the walls, counter top are little decorated brown-paper flags saying 'Happy Birthday Nepeta!" in green letters.

"It's a pleasure. I like to get away from the bar sometimes. No matter how interesting things are there."

"That's why I'm clearing you a path to where the presents go, by the table."

"I'd hate to see a smart cow. They do enough damage when they're stupid. You ever seen what Ellen rides, the Brahmin with two heads? Cattle are like that but with only one head."

"Yeah, cake's hard to turn down. Oh, she likes it?"

Broccoli's just another vegetable to William but long as the person the party's for likes it.

"Right, um, any steps or edges I should watch for?"

[basic_powers]

"Loves it would be more accurate. She gets growly over it."

[nepetaleijon]

"There's interesting things here too! Want to see the games?"

If Ako has already put down her present, she's going to find herself tugged toward the backyard.

[nepetaleijon]

She shakes her head. "Who's Ellen?"

[basic_powers]

"No steps but you're going to hit a hall corner on your left."

"Then it's good there's enough of it. How are you doin'?"

[not_his_pa]

"She's taller than you with grey hair and real nice. She's usually wearin' armor of some sort and sometimes practices ridin' her Brahmin out back,"

He's not good at describing people but once you meet Ellen, she's hard to forget.

When Nepeta gets to Ako's box, she turns it a couple of times to find the best place to start trying to open it. It's possible she notices its odd lightness.

She nods, committing the description to memory. "Maybe you could introduce us sometime?"

"I'll try to. She's a good friend of mine."

[basic_powers]

...err. No one's really asked much about that...really.

"Doing mostly okay...kinda tired a little between all the summer courses I'm taking."

[seat_five_girl]

Ako follows along easily. It's actually kind of refreshing to get dragged places - it reminds her of Mahora a little.

"Sure. What ones are there?"

[not_his_pa]

"How many are you doin'?"

William likes school but he can't see searching it out when he doesn't have to.

[seat_five_girl]

It takes a few swerves but Ako manages to navigate the path.

Eventually.

"Table is right in front of you and it's a clear spot..set it down and come on and grab yourself some food."

[basic_powers]

"Three of em, learning how to write and speak a new language counts as two, and I'm getting some Isshin Kenpo lessons too."

He's gotten so that he doesn't really mind the learning anymore. It's learning stuff that'll be helpful to him later on!

[seat_five_girl]

"Sounds good Tyler-san," agrees Ako as she follows directions.

"You did a good job setting this up."

[not_his_pa]

"What's Isshin Kenpo and what language are you learning?"

He doesn't get the words to sound like they should but he's trying.

[nepetaleijon]

"There's a game where you throw sharp things and try to hit a big round target called a bullseye only there isn't really an eye, and there's one where you throw a ball through a hoop, and a thing called a frisb33 that you throw around, and there's a bonfire and stuff to roast on it --"

Sooner or later she's going to have to remember to breathe.

"Isshin Kenpo is a form of defensive and offensive fighting with your bare hands. I'm learning Japanese right now for my language and it's really challenging since they've got easily hundreds of thousands of symbols for writing."
