As they exist from the narrow door of the linen closet for his apartment, Dinah will see two doors down the hallway to her left. One has a biohazard sign hanging from it, and the other is part-way open, enough that one can see the window and bed inside. There's a couple of photos hanging from the wall, one of Beauford and a blonde young woman laughing with the lights of a carnival in the twilight background, and one with Beauford and a reddish-brown haired man in a repurposed tan flightsuit, grinning in front of a college graduation ceremony.

To her right, she'll see that Beauford was infact not exaggerating at all about the shoebox size of his apartment's kitchen, as there is only a tiny island seperating it from the small living room. There's a well-used black futon and coffee table with a little black laptop on top of magazines and comic books. Against the wall there's a shelf with a flatscreen tv, several videogame consoles and a dvd/bluray player. Light filters through the curtain outside and Dinah can likely see the door out of the apartment with three bicycles hanging from hooks beside it on the wall, and pannier bags for the bikes hung with coats and hats from the coat rack.

It doesn't take much guessing to figure out that the blue and gunmetal bike is Beauford's from the homemade welds and adjustments given to it.

"Welcome to my humble bachelor pad...I'd give you the tour but this is pretty much it."

...Beauford's eyebrows are going Orly at you Dinah.

"...all kinds of languages, and I'd say I only understand about 2 percent of the graffiti, and what little I do understand I ...well."

"Someone used to have the full lyrics for Eskimo Nell written on one of the stalls."

"You know, my Uncle taught me that one," Dinah says. "My Mom banned him from the apartment for a month."

"Aunt Romana made me eat soap after I refused to tell her where I learned it from." Beauford makes a face.

"Literally?" Dinah asks, surprised. "I didn't realise people still did that."

[basic_powers]

"Call her old-fashioned, ivory soap tastes horrible." He makes a face at the thought of it again.

"No phone numbers oddly enough, but I think that's more because of the bar itself."

"Yeah," says the pre-cell Dinah. "Where're you going to phone people from?"

"Exactly." Beauford smirks, finishing off his beer and the fourth slice of pizza. "Ooof....I think I'm ready for the doggie bag..how about you?"

"Let me just finish this slice," Dinah says, although she has slowed down. "We can get the rest boxed."

"And then I think we'll take one of the scenic trolleys back...good slow ride." Beauford waves for Kelly again.

"Boxes please, I think we're done."

"Ofcourse, i'll be right back."

"Oh, nice," Dinah agrees. "We can see the scenery with little to no effort."

"Exactly, and after all the effort of today.." Well, by then Kelly's brought back a pizzabox and he's neatly putting all of the leftover pizza into it, handing 35 dollars over to Kelly. "Keep the change."

With that...they're back out at the street again.

And the weather hasn't got any cooler, either. Dinah hugs the pizzabox to herself, and glances down the street. "Which way to the trolley?"

"This way," Beauford nods in a direction back towards the west. "About six blocks that away. You mind if I carry the pizza box for you?"

Dinah gives him a sideways look, and passes the pizzabox over.

"Something wrong with the way I'm carrying it?"

[basic_powers]

"...nooo..."

But if he's going to bring up her mother, he'd rather not lose the pizza if he can help it.

"...so...ah....about Milliways..."

[raptorcanaria]

"What about it?" Dinah says, still frowning.

This is suddenly weird.

[basic_powers]

...ahahahaha. Suddenly weird.

"...are you sure your mom doesn't know about it?"

[raptorcanaria]

Verrry slowly, "I'm sure I haven't told her about it."

Dinah now is looking where she's going, and not at Beauford.

[basic_powers]

"...that doesn't mean she couldn't have figured it out on her own." Beauford says quietly. "....and after that visit, looking back at it.....I think she does know."

Dinah continues looking ahead for a couple of steps, then she stops and turns to him, eyes narrow.

"What about that last visit makes you think she knows?"

"....it was the questions she didn't ask. The little things, like asking how my trip out to Gotham was, and why I was visiting." Beauford stops, just as soon as she does, and debates backing up.

"And from that you think she's deduced I have a magic bar in my bedroom?"

Really?

[basic_powers]

"No, I think she deduced that i didn't come in by normal means, and i'm not affiliated with your team since I didn't come down past the floral shop which she probably watches like a hawk if she's anything as controlling as you make her out to be."

[raptorcanaria]

"That's a leap," Dinah says, but she relaxes a little now and carries on walking.

"If she wants to know something, she'll ask about it."

"... It isn't a far leap, is what I'm saying. ...does your mom control what you do as a Leaguer?"
