Lucas spending the night

It's not that long a walk upstairs to #238, and by the time they get up to the room door, Lucas can probably hear the scratching at the other side of the plain wooden door.

"Winston, sit!" Tyler says firmly as he opens the door up.

"Koh!" Is the answering bark from the black and gold cat-sized creature waiting on the otherside, who is sitting.

For all of five second before moving forward to sniff at the person who has come up with his human with a low rumble.

"Oh, I'm sorry," he says, looking at the puddles. "I can help clean those up."

He then takes the clothes and says, "Thank you for letting me borrow your clothes, too."

"It's no trouble. If we leave your dirty clothes out in the hamper, we'll get em back all cleaned, dried and folded in the morning." He's just going to start pulling down the rest of the towels to mop up the floor. "Towels too probably."

"Well, if you're sure," Lucas says.

[basic_powers]

"I'm sure, it's not really home, but I've stayed here before."

It doesn't take much to get the bathroom mostly dry again, and the dirty and wet laundry thrown into the hinged opening in the wall.

"I'll set up the sleeping bag while you get dressed."

[pullsneedles]

"Okay."

Once Tyler is gone, Lucas finishes drying off his body and hair with the towel and gets into the shirt and sweatpants.

He looks at himself in the mirror, running a hand through his messy dried hair and trying not to think too much about how he liked it when Mom brushed it.

He sniffles a bit and wipes his eyes but that's it for now. He's pretty tired from crying before. There's only so much a body can do in such a short amount of time.

That and Lucas has probably used up all his tear-juice already, too dried out to cry at this time. Tyler peers in after a moment of rustling is heard from the main room.

"...you okay?"

[pullsneedles]

"Yeah..." he says, all the tears wiped away. "I think I'm okay."

As okay as he's going to get for the time-being.

"I guess I'll go to bed now."

[basic_powers]

"It'll be okay..you'll see." Tyler ducks back into the main room.

The bed's been thoughtfully set up with a nightlight and a strange red and blue toy that looks like a robot. It's rather well-hugged and a little dingy but...

Plush Optimus Prime has done his job well of carrying Tyler on through some seriously bad nights. He will do his duty to all sentient children tonight as well.

Tyler's blue sleeping bag is set up as well, with a little floor lamp. He's already changed for bed and Winston's busy nosing some ball made out of metal chains around.

"Brush your teeth and everything like that?"

It does look quite inviting. And while he's used to sharing space with Claus, it's a nice change to have some breathing room.

He hasn't a clue what Plush Optimus Prime is but he's all for hugging it tonight when he climbs into bed.

"Yeah, took care of all of that."

It's also nice to have some of that normality.

"Thanks, Tyler."

[basic_powers]

"Anytime Lucas," Tyler calls from the floor, before dimming the floor light.

"Night."

[pullsneedles]

"Good night," Lucas says back.

And by some stroke of luck, his dreams were either forgettable or pleasant.
